Established in 1985, the Inuit Art Foundation offers professional development services to Inuit artists, and supports such community initiatives as workshops and the obtaining of materials and tools. Through the publication of Inuit Art Quarterly (IAQ), the only magazine in the world dedicated to Inuit art, the Foundation promotes the work of Inuit artists worldwide. The foundation also produces online art histories.

We are seeking an energetic and dynamic individual to fill the temporary full-time position of project assistant, primarily to work on our our online art history, Nunavik Art Alive. The job would be for the duration of 4-6  months with the possibility of an extension. Your responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:
-Sourcing photos for the image galleries on the website
-Maintaining an accurate inventory of images for the web site
-Researching the Nunavik Region, creating a questionnaire and conducting interviews with Inuit artists
-Collating artist information and presenting findings in a clear and accurate written account for the web site
-Fact checking and inputting slide information into a database
- Consulting archives for correct images and cross referencing facts

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
-Completion of post-secondary university education with an emphasis in art history, history, research, journalism, museum studies or equivalent discipline or 2 years experience in a related field
-Vast knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook, demonstrating proficiency and accuracy
-Prior experience with research, collecting information and completing interviews
-Knowledge of Inuit Art would be considered an asset
