The provincial government says it hopes details of any financial assistance for Atcon Ltd. can be announced by the end of next week.
Acting Business New Brunswick Minister Jack Keir said he would like to have any potential agreement for the company finalized before the end of the legislative sitting next Friday.
"We want to make sure that we do the due diligence on this, that the business case works," he said, stressing the importance of the company in Miramichi.
Government officials were in Miramichi this week working on details of the agreement.
The province and the company have been tight-lipped about a potential funding agreement - rumoured to be worth as much as $50 million.
Last year, Atcon received a $13-million loan guarantee from the province to help the company work on a bridge in the Northwest Territories. The company has filled 78 of the 150 jobs it promised to create when it received the funding.
