Aboriginal Research and Arts Administration Work Study

Program dates: April 15, 2010 - November 30, 2010

Application deadline: March 15, 2010

This work study program provides the opportunity to assist in the organization and support of visual arts programs through the practical application of administrative skills. Participants have the opportunity to engage in discussions about visual arts programming, schedule, and attend both formal lectures and informal discussions with program artists. Learning opportunities arise in the preparation for and facilitation of residency programs and visual arts events.

Administrative responsibilities will include ongoing communication with artists prior to their residency as well as providing support to the artists while they are in residence at The Banff Centre. The work study participant works closely with the department's administrative staff to book space, equipment, prepare paperwork, filing, writing, update correspondence, etc. Opportunities to attend workshops, discussion groups, and other cultural events including community outreach initiatives are all part of this program.

Please note: Applicants for the Visual Arts Aboriginal Administration Work Study must be status, non-status, Métis, or Inuit.
