Music NWT - Blues Nation - Pure Canadiana!!

As part of our fall fundraising campaign and in concert with one of our many objectives , Music NWT is presenting a major, all Canadian blues music & dance event on Sunday November 14th at the Top Knight Pub.  The show will feature 3 premiere southern entertainers collaborating with 3 of Music NWT's most prominent member musicians.

The show will open with local Tlicho sensation "Diga Wolf" - 2010 JUNO Nominee for Aboriginal Album of the Year; 2005 CAMA Winner; and nominee for several other Aboriginal music awards in the past decade.

The second act will be Marshall Lawrence from Edmonton, Alberta - Marshall is a Maple Blues Award Nominee; Canadian Independent Music Award Nominee; and recent inductee to the Blues Hall of Fame.  His latest two albums have been critically acclaimed - "The Morning After" charted #1 Nationally on the Roots Blues radio charts for several weeks;  and his most recent release - "Blues Intervention" - charted at #3 Nationally and # 7 Internationally on the Roots Blues radio charts.  If you like slide guitar, delta-style finger picking and acoustic roots blues - you are in for a real experience!!

The closing act will be one of Canada's legendary and most accomplished blues musicians, Jack de Keyzer - Jack is a 2 time JUNO Award winner (2010 Winner - Blues Album of the Year); 7 time Maple Blues Award Winner; and 2 time International Songwriting Competition finalist and winner!!  Backing up Jack (from Ontario) and his saxaphonist (Dave Babcock from Alberta) will be Yellowknife's own Pat Braden on bass, and Norm Glowach on drums.  Jack's music puts people on their feet, dancing from the beginning to the end of his shows.

One of the highlights of the show will be the final set which will include a collaboration with all artsists featured during the evening.  This will be Jack's first performance "north of 60" and a tremendous opportunity for music lovers in the City of Yellowknife; for Music NWT to raise it's growing profile; and last but not least, for Music NWT's sponsors.
