EXPOSE YOURSELF to art! The Aurora Art Society is celebrating its 10th Anniversary during ArtsWeek September 23 to October 2, 2011.
Artists and arts-inspired individuals are invited to submit their art, craft, or creation for the Art Exhibition (up to two pieces of work - painting, drawing, jewelry, sculpture, fiber arts, glass, ceramics – all welcome) or the Trashformation contest (at least 80% recycled material. Great prizes) on Saturday, September 17, 2011. Work will only be accepted on September 17th between 12:00 noon and 4:00 p.m. in the auditorium at the museum (Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre).
ArtsWeek begins with a gala evening on Friday, September 23, 2011 at the museum followed by a week of demonstrations, workshops and discussions. ArtWeek wraps up with the Annual General Meeting on Sunday, October 2nd.

This is the 8th Annual Artsweek event. Artsweek is an opportunity for the public to expose themselves to the local visual arts scene, and it's also a chance for local artists to showcase their work and participate in activities and professional development.
A number of free visual arts events happen in Yellowknife from September 23 – October 2.
